Easy Breakfast Ideas For People On-The-Go

What you put into your mouth becomes fuel for your brain, heart, organs, limbs, every little part of you. But only if you allow it. There’s no questioning that if you feel good inside, you will radiate that same energy, that frequency, out into the world. Which is why my mantra–feed the mind, nourish the soul–starts at the very beginning: breakfast.

Are you struggling to find something healthy to eat in the morning?

🍋 Start with warm lemon water (in a thermos if you’re on the go) instead of your daily coffee. You can always have coffee later but lemon water works to detox first thing and gear up your digestive system.

  • 🥒 Green Detox Smoothie:

This is my go-to breakfast when I’m tight for time–especially when I have 8:30am meetings. Simply add a big handful of spinach, one banana, cacao nibs or cacao powder, a spoonful of peanut butter, a dollop of honey, a couple dashes of cinnamon, and almond milk. Add water or ice to adjust the taste or consistency. And that’s it! I always prep my smoothies ahead of time (the night before) and add almond milk in the morning before I head out the door.

  • 🍯 Overnight Oats

This is a great and convenient option for big oatmeal lovers. All you have to do is add oats, chia seeds or hemp seeds, nuts, dried fruit, honey, and almond milk in a jar and let sit overnight. In the morning, remove from the fridge and top with sliced fresh fruit like strawberries and bananas, and you’re set. Just don’t forget your spoon!

  • 🥑 Avocado Toast

That’s as straight-forward as it gets. Toast bread (I like Ezekiel bread or anything with a whole bunch of grains and seeds), slice half an avocado, and pack separately until you get to work. Alumnimum foil works to separate the bread from the avo–to avoid sogginess–but I’m also looking into more eco-friendly, sustainable, and reusable wrapping. If you have time to assemble your avocado toast at home, try adding Himalayan pink sea salt or Spike seasoning, black pepper, red chili flakes, rosemary or truffle infused olive oil, and a little bit of turmeric. You could even top it off with sliced tomatoes, sprouts, or a fried egg.

  • 🍌 Peanut Butter-Honey Banana Toast

My favorite sneaky treat… because when’s the last time you had a bomb ass pb&b? Throw peanut butter or almond butter and sliced bananas on bread, plus a drizzle of honey and some hemp seeds. Voila! For extra oomph, feel free to toss your most loved jam on that bad boy.

  • 🍮 Chia Pudding

This breakfast food is a bit odd at first but can be extremely versatile and filling. All it is is chia seeds soaked in nut milk overnight. You can add chopped nuts, dried or fresh fruit, and honey in the morning to take with you. Often times I’ve tried canned coconut milk instead of plain almond milk, which brings about a much more creamy consistency.

  • 🍇 Just fruit!

Okay, yeah this one is kind of a no-brainer, but it’s great for those who aren’t particularly hungry in the wee hours of the monring. Your best bet is to pack some fruit to munch on during your commute or once you arrive like grapes, an apple, a banana, dried figs, blueberries, etc. My mom enjoys adding yogurt, chopped fruit, and granola to a bowl while she checks her morning emails and listens in on calls.

Leave a comment sharing your favorite to-go breakfast food. I’d love to hear.
